Homenaje y memoria a 50 años del golpe

Resumen

En el siguiente texto se contextualiza la importancia de honrar la memoria y de los derechos humanos. Los 50 años del Golpe de Estado son huellas del dolor y la dignidad de quienes formaron la historia reciente del país. El texto también destaca la memoria del propio campus de la Universidad Alberto Hurtado. Un histórico refugio de la revista Mensaje, la Biblioteca Bellarmino y la Vicaría de la Solidaridad, lugares fundamentales de la defensa de los derechos humanos y memoria del conjunto de la sociedad chilena. Se recuerda el surgimiento del Comité Pro-Paz como respuesta ecuménica ante la represión y se subraya la importancia del compromiso ético con la democracia y el medio ambiente en tiempos actuales. Por último, se enfatiza la unión de la comunidad geográfica en las trayectorias de Freddy Taberna y María Isabel Gutiérrez y la necesidad de preservar la memoria histórica y fortalecer los valores democráticos propios del sentido la Universidad.

Abstract

The following text contextualizes the importance of honoring memory and human rights. The 50 years since the coup d'état bear the marks of the pain and dignity of those who shaped the recent history of the country. The text also highlights the memory of the campus itself at Alberto Hurtado University, a historic refuge of the journal Mensaje, the Bellarmino Library, and the Vicariate of Solidarity—fundamental places in the defense of human rights and the memory of Chilean society as a whole. It recalls the emergence of the Pro-Peace Committee as an ecumenical response to repression and underscores the importance of ethical commitment to democracy and the environment in current times. Finally, it emphasizes the unity of the geographical community in the trajectories of Freddy Taberna and María Isabel Gutiérrez, and the need to preserve historical memory and strengthen the democratic values inherent in the university's mision.
